Sumedha Sharma has over 28 years of extensive experience in the realm of social development, both nationally and internationally.

Based in Delhi, India, Sumedha has dedicated her career to addressing critical issues such as Women’s Rights and Empowerment, Violence Against Girls and Women, Gender and Diversity, Education, Governance, and Livelihoods. Her multifaceted expertise spans various sectors, reflecting a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies surrounding social challenges. Sumedha has effectively navigated her roles across different organizations, honing skills in managing grants, feminist grant-making, conducting research, leading campaigns and advocacy efforts, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, organizational development, project development, and strategic planning. Currently at the helm of iPartner India, Sumedha is driving country operations and expansion, contributing significantly to the organization’s mission. Additionally, she serves as an advisor to the Human Capability Foundation, a grant-making organization based in the United Kingdom. In addition, her role as the Feminist Grant Making Advisor involves providing technical support for the impactful initiative, ‘What Works to Prevent Violence – Impact at Scale II,’ funded by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). In recognition of her expertise, Sumedha was invited as a Visiting Fellow by the Institute of Development Studies, Brighton in 2000, where she authored a paper on ‘How women govern local governments.’ Holding a Masters’s degree in Social Work from the University of Mumbai, Sumedha is proficient in both English and Hindi, reflecting her ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and communities.
