Vuyiseka Dubula

Vuyiseka Dubula is a respected advocate in the fields of public health and human rights.

With a strong background in HIV/AIDS, gender equality, and community empowerment, Vuyiseka has been a key figure in advancing the rights of individuals living with HIV. She previously directed the Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS Management at Stellenbosch University and co-founded the Activist Centre for Education & Development. Vuyiseka’s contributions have earned her several prestigious awards, including the Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law (2018) and the Global Leadership Award from Acacia Global (2015).

She holds a PhD in development studies, a postgraduate diploma, and an MPhil in HIV/AIDS management.

As the Head of the Community, Rights & Gender Department (CRG) at the Global Fund, Vuyiseka continues her commitment to gender equality, human rights, and health equity, building on two decades of progress in these areas. Her personal experiences as a feminist and an openly HIV-positive individual from the Global South shape her dedication to positive change.
